Spain Football Showcase 2026: Football Trials in Abu Dhabi with a Pathway to Madrid
Searching for serious football trials in Abu Dhabi that lead somewhere real? This November, Dominant Academy launches the Spain Football Showcase 2026 — a three-day assessment for players aged 12–18, built around one goal: connecting talented footballers in Abu Dhabi with structured development and potential training opportunities in Madrid, Spain.
The showcase takes place on 17, 19 and 20 November 2026 at the Al Maryah Sports Center (ACTIVE Al Maryah Island) and Zayed Cricket Stadium. Above all, it marks the first step into the Dominant Academy International Pathway.
Your Performance. Your Pathway. Your Opportunity.
What Is the Spain Football Showcase 2026?
The Spain Football Showcase 2026 is an international football development initiative, not a one-off tryout. Over three structured evenings, our coaching team assesses ambitious young players who are ready to challenge themselves, demonstrate their abilities and explore the next stage of their football development.
Through our football network and relationships with Spanish partners in Madrid, Dominant Academy aims to create meaningful opportunities for young athletes: stronger individual performance, international exposure and, for eligible players, the possibility of training within Spanish club environments.
Why These Football Trials in Abu Dhabi Are Different
Most football trials in Abu Dhabi focus on a single match performance. In contrast, the Spain Showcase evaluates the complete player over three days. Spain is internationally recognized for its football culture, technical excellence and professional development systems. Therefore, our assessment mirrors those same standards, so players understand the technical, tactical, physical and mental demands of international football.
Our coaches evaluate players across five areas:
- Technical ability — ball control, passing and receiving
- Tactical awareness — positioning and decision-making
- Physical attributes — coordination, speed and agility
- Game performance — small-sided games and football-specific situations
- Character — attitude, discipline, coachability and development potential
How the Three-Day Selection Process Works
Day 1 – 17 November: Initial Assessment
At the Al Maryah Sports Center, players participate in technical, physical and positional exercises designed to assess their current abilities and overall performance.
Day 2 – 19 November: Tactical and Game Assessment
Next, players are evaluated through tactical activities, football-specific challenges and small-sided games, with particular attention to decision-making and game understanding.
Day 3 – 20 November: Final Evaluation and Selection
Finally, at Zayed Cricket Stadium, up to 10 shortlisted players enter the final evaluation stage. From this group, up to five players may be selected for priority admission to the Dominant Academy International Pathway, subject to meeting the required performance standards.
Beyond the Trials: The International Pathway
The showcase is only the starting point. Afterwards, eligible players can enter our structured International Pathway programs, built on the Pro Performance Training (PPT) methodology — focused development in smaller groups with greater attention to individual needs.
Depending on assessment and objectives, players may be offered a one-month or three-month development pathway, which can include:
- Individual technical and positional training
- Speed, agility, coordination and physical conditioning
- Tactical understanding and football intelligence
- Position-specific development objectives
- Performance assessments and progress monitoring
- Individual coaching guidance, mentorship and parent consultations
These are separately paid development programs, with participation based on player assessment, suitability and availability.
Training Opportunities in Madrid, Spain
Following the appropriate preparation period, players who demonstrate the required readiness may be considered for international training experiences through our Spanish club connections. These experiences introduce young players to different coaching methodologies, higher training demands and the professional football culture of Spain — the same environment our squads tasted at the U16 tournament in Spain.
The potential travel window is February to April 2027, depending on receiving club schedules and individual arrangements. All international experiences are organized separately, with details and fees communicated to families before confirmation. Importantly, participation in the showcase or pathway does not automatically guarantee a Spanish club invitation, trial, contract or placement — opportunities are based on individual assessment, preparation and receiving club requirements.
Every Player Has a Development Opportunity
Not being selected among the final five does not mean the end of the journey. Players who show commitment and potential may still be offered suitable PPT training, mentorship or other structured programs. Moreover, as players progress, they may be reassessed for future international opportunities in Spain.
